Aston University is welcoming enquiries from students who are elgible
for the adjustment process and who have achieved the entry grades we
require as listed in our
clearing vacancies page.
If you passed your exams with better results than you
expected, you may have met and exceeded the grades needed for your firm
choice University. This provides an opportunity for you to reconsider
where and what to study.
You can contact Aston and ask to be considered
for a place on one of our courses with vacancies, whilst keeping your
offer at your originally chosen university. If you are successful in
getting a place at Aston, you can then decline your original place at
the other University. If you don’t get a place through Adjustment, you
can still go to your original University.
Visit the UCAS Adjustment website for full information on the Adjustment process.
Adjustment
can be an exciting time for you and your family, and making the
decision to change your course and university is an important one.
Generally we recommend that potential adjustment
students and their parents/advisers try to think carefully and
rationally after results before changing their original Firm
Acceptance choice and check issues such as accommodation guarantees,
bursaries and any Visa issues (for international students). At Aston we
welcome enquiries from eligible adjustment and clearing students but
wish to ensure that they are making the right choice.
In addition we strongly recommend that students wishing
to adjust FROM Aston University think carefully, again considering
issues such as potentially losing accommodation as well as a place at Aston - a high quality University with an excellent reputation for quality, graduate employability and student support.
You are eligible to use Adjustment if your exam results
meet and exceed the conditions of your conditional firm (CF) choice University.
You are not eligible to use Adjustment if:
- you are confirmed (UF) at your firm choice but did not exceed the conditions of the offer
- you have a confirmed place on a changed course offer
- your original offer was unconditional.
Note that you cannot adjust your insurance choice.
Visit the UCAS website for
examples of grades which would make you eligible or not eligible for Adjustment.
The Adjustment process is available from A level results
day (18 August 2011) until 31 August. Your individual Adjustment period
starts on 18 August or when your conditional firm (CF) choice changes
to unconditional firm (UF), whichever is later. From this time you have a
maximum of five calendar days (five 24 hour periods, including
Saturdays and Sundays) to register and secure an alternative course, if
you decide this is what you want to do.
