Accommodation for Clearing & Adjustment Students - 2011

Lakeside accomodation

Aston University works hard to offer extensive support to Clearing, Adjustment and Insurance students in finding a place in University-managed accommodation on campus or private sector options.

We do not guarantee a place in University-owned accommodation to Clearing, Adjustment & Insurance students, however in most years it has been possible to allocate some on-campus rooms to these students once they have confirmed that they want to study at Aston University via UCAS online Track

Accommodation is allocated, subject to availability, on a first-come first-served basis.

If places are available we strongly recommend first year Aston students to live on campus in our residences, as they can be assured of good value, excellent facilities and support services.

What you need to do

If you want to be considered for a place on campus as a Clearing or Adjustment student you must:

  • confirm you want to accept the place offered at Aston and that you have received your UCAS clearing number. You also need a 9 digit student number from Aston University which you can obtain from your offer letter/email or the admissions office for the course you have accepted a place on. This number should start with "11"
  • complete our online accommodation application form as soon as possible. The deadline for applications is 26th August
  • If places in university accommodation are still available, they will be allocated, subject to availability, on a first-come, first-served basis.

Help finding off-campus accommodation

If you don't want to live on campus, or are unable to secure a room on campus, Aston University's Students' Guild (our Students' Union) can offer experienced and professional support in finding off-campus accommodation in Birmingham.

Before accepting an accommodation place in the private sector, we recommend applying to live on campus first as we may have places available, which would be allocated after our original firm choice students have been placed.

The Students' Guild's Advice & Representation Centre run a website, www.astonstudentpad.co.uk, which advertises quality private accommodation in Birmingham, much of which is close to campus in city centre apartments.

We recommended you talk to the Advice and Representation Centre for general advice before making any commitments to private landlords or private apartment developments. Their friendly team is happy to welcome visitors in person during their opening hours for advice and support, or you can call them on 0121 204 4848 or email at arc@aston.ac.uk.
