Aston Business School will be hosting the International Conference on Manufacturing Research (ICMR), from Tuesday 11th - Thursday 13th September 2012.
The Conference is a major event for academics and industrialists engaged in manufacturing research. Held annually in the UK since the late 1970s, the conference is renowned for successfully bringing together a broad community of researchers, academics and industrialists who share a common goal of developing and managing the technologies and operations key to sustaining the success of manufacturing businesses. The conference will have a strong emphasis on industrial relevance, with an aim to promote manufacturing engineering education, training and research.
The event will begin with a welcome from Aston University’s Vice Chancellor, Professor Dame Julia King and will include a number of high profile keynote speakers over the 3 days, including:
- Hamid Mughal, Executive Vice president Manufacturing, Rolls Royce Plc;
- Professor Sir Mike Gregory, Institute for Manufacturing, Cambridge University;
- John Ladbrook, European Simulation Specialist, Ford Motor Company;
- Professor Jay Lee, Director of the Center for Intelligent Maintenance Systems, University of Cincinnati.
