There's plenty of green space in Birmingham for you to relax in and enjoy. There are thought to be around 200 parks in Birmingham, many of which host special events throughout the year, such as Fun Days, walks and tours.
Cannon Hill Park is a Victorian park and one of Birmingham's most varied and attractive. It has two lakes, rowing boat facilities, tennis, fishing and a host of activities particularly during the summer months. Cannon Hill Park has been awarded the coveted Green Flag Award for excellent environmental and management standards
Lickey Hills lies 11 miles south west of the city centre and covers an area of 524 acres. The hills are home to a variety of woodland and heathland, all rich in wildlife. There's a visitor centre where you can get plenty of information on the hills and buy refreshments. Lickey Hills is another Birmingham park with has to receive the Green Flag Award.
Kings Heath Park is another lovely Victorian Park, and is also the home of the Horticultural Training Centre, created by the BBC's Gardener's World team. Kings Heath Park also has a Green Flag Award.
You can also visit the beautiful Botanical Gardens which are open year round from sunrise to sunset.
