Dr William Ho has worked at the Aston University Business School since June 2005. Before joining Aston, he had worked as a Research Associate in the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. During his BEng and PhD studies, he received plenty of scholarships and honors.
He enjoys teaching and continuous learning. He obtained the Postgraduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education from Aston University in 2009, and he is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, UK. In 2010, he obtained the Aston Excellence Award - Outstanding Teacher of the Year. Besides teaching at Aston, he has been invited as a Visiting Lecturer at the Rouen Business School in France, the Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration in Austria, and the University of Regensburg in Germany.
His research interests include supply chain management, transportation and logistics management, production and operations management, and operations research. He has published extensively in various international journals like Computers and Operations Research, Engineering Applications of Artificial Intelligence, European Journal of Operational Research, Expert Systems with Applications, International Journal of Production Economics, International Journal of Production Research, Supply Chain Management: An International Journal, and so on. His first authored book was published in 2006. He is an Editorial Board member of the International Journal of Advanced Manufacturing Technology, and an Associate Editor of the OR Insights journal. Currently, he is undertaking several externally funded research projects, and supervising several DBA and PhD students.
