Self-Selection and Transitions into Self-Employment In Developing Countries.
Self-Employment, Entrepreneurship, Developing Countries.
My research aims at contributing to an area of the economic literature and debate that is highly controversial yet with many unanswered questions. In the first part, I empirically investigate factors that influence the transition rates into self-employment in developing countries. The second part of the research then focuses on the push-pull debate to find out if these individuals are being pulled or pushed into self-employment. The last part aims to focus on the impact of spouses and the household on such decisions.
