Professor Tim Baines Professor of Operations Strategy
Professor Tim Baines is a leading authority on servitization and the transformation of manufacturers to compete through Product-Service Systems (PSS). He began his a technician apprenticeship, and has progressed through a variety of industrial and academic roles, including that of Visiting Scholar at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He is a chartered engineer, and holds a variety of positions including membership of the EPSRC College of Peers, and Fellowship of both the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, and Institution of Engineers and Technologists.

Iain McKechnie Project Manager
Iain manages a West Midlands ERDF-funded project to support manufacturing SMEs in the West Midlands to adopt servitization.
Prior to joining Aston University, Iain was a Senior Consultant at TUV SUD NEL ('NEL') where he was Project Director for a SME business support programme in the east of England. The two-year project supported more than 360 small businesses across the region. Iain has an engineering background and is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute.

Patrick Keen Teaching Fellow
Patrick focuses on applied research and teaching in the servitization of manufacturing. He works closely with industry and wider partners, developing and sharing knowledge with both businesses and government. Prior to joining Aston University, Patrick led on manufacturing, innovation and procurement policy for the 9 English Regional Development Agencies, and before this he worked with central government to lead and develop its National Manufacturing Advisory Service.

Eleanor Musson Business Liaison Officer
Eleanor works on a West Midlands ERDF-funded project to support manufacturing SMEs in the West Midlands to adopt servitization. She is responsible for the business engagement and eligibility, marketing and event management. Prior to joining Aston University, she worked as an Executive Project Officer for Birmingham City Council.
