Academic Groups

At Aston Business School our teaching is informed by our research. The School embraces a wide range of specialisms that extend across the full spectrum of business and management research. Our research staff are organised into six Academic Groups, each of which bring together an intellectually exciting community of academics and research students with common subject and research interests.
  • Aston Law
    Facilitates research into legal contracting issues, with a particular focus on planning and negotiation, contract formation and contractual remedies. The Group is also involved in interdisciplinary research into taxation and corporate governance.

  • Economics & Strategy
    Works to advance the understanding of strategic management, economics, international business and innovation and entrepreneurship. The Group specialises in applying economic principles to the business environment.

  • Finance & Accounting
    Facilitates research into financial performance, governance and accountability. The Group has specific expertise in the service sector.

  • Marketing Group
    Has research interests across the full spectrum of marketing specialities, but with a particular focus on marketing strategy, product and brand management, marketing channels and research methods.

  • Operations & Information Management Group
    Facilitates research into technology and operations management, management science and knowledge management. The Group aims to devise interventions that enhance both performance and profit in organisations.

  • Work & Organisational Psychology
    Works to advance the understanding of social processes, people management and organisational effectiveness and their effect on the business environment.
