Birmingham, in the heart of the West Midlands has much to offer the visitor. Whether it be in the city centre or the outer lying areas. We would appreciate it if you could pre-book the excursions. Excursions will only run if the minimum numbers are reached. There will be a possibility to book an excursion on site however this will depend on availability.
Friday evening
Guided city walk
Departing late afternoon from the main reception of Aston University the guide will walk you through the streets of Birmingham, to Birmingham’s finest entertainment area. On route, see the famous monuments ,dedicated to the development of Birmingham, the imposing law courts , magnificent Council House, the Classical Town Hall, to name but a few. Hear the tale of “Ebony”and many more anecdotes. End the tour in the “Venice “of the West Midlands, Brindley Place with its numerous canals and canal side eating and drinking places.

You may prefer to end the tour with a meal at “Around the world in 80 dishes” A mouth watering buffet featuring Chinese, Indian, Thai, Mexican and Italian cuisine

Tour of BBC Birmingham
BBC Birmingham has thrown open its doors, offering you the chance to go inside the state-of-the-art studios situated in The Mailbox.
Take a peek behind the scenes of programmes which are made here and try your hand at some interactive fun!
During the tour there is always the chance of bumping into a favourite presenter or radio DJ, hearing some trade secrets or being party to some juicy gossip while passing the actors' green room...
We'll take you inside as many studios as business allows but please remember that BBC Birmingham is a working building and no two tours are the same.
Tours last up to 1 hour 30 minutes and involves a reasonable amount of walking and standing. You will need to walk to the mail box to meet the guide at the BBC.

The Chocolate World of Cadbury's
Follow the fascinating history of chocolate making from
the steamy rain forests of South America to Birmingham. The socially
conscious Cadbury family originally sold tea, coffee and hot chocolate
in their small shop in Bull street. Being Quakers, they strongly
disapproved of alcohol. As sales increased they built a factory in
Bourneville and also built cottages for their workers. There were no
pubs in Bourneville. Today their legacy lives on. Cadbury’s chocolate
is known all over the world

Warwick castle
Enjoy a full day tour to the town of Warwick and its famous castle. Immerse
yourself in the atmosphere and history of this splendid Castle. Follow

You may like to take a stroll through the streets of Warwick to the St Mary’s the historic Church of the Earls of Warwick or visit the Lord Leycester's Hospital, an impressive medieval construction.

Stratford upon Avon
An excursion to Shakespeare country. Go on a short
orientation walking tour of Stratford upon Avon which will allow for
plenty of free time afterwards to pay a visit to Shakespeare’s
birthplace, explore the shops of Stratford, try one of the traditional
pub lunches or take a boat trip.
