From whichever direction you are approaching Birmingham, Aston University is best reached from the M6 motorway (not the new M6 Toll, which bypasses the city).
Aston University is also close to the A4540 Birmingham Central Ring Road. Alternative routes to the campus from the South and West include the A45 from the M42 Junction 6, the A441 from the M42 Junction 2, the A456 from the M5 Junction 3 and the A38 from the M5 Junction 4.

Birmingham New Street Station lies in the heart of the city and is the hub of the UK rail network. High-speed trains from London Euston operate three times an hour and the journey takes just 82 minutes.Birmingham New Street Station is the nearest main-line station to Aston University, a short, 15 minutes walk away through the main shopping areas of the city. The station has direct lines to most parts of the UK and many local services.
Some regional and national services arrive at Birmingham Snow Hill and Moor Street stations, which are a short ten minute walk from campus.
Taxis can be hired from the taxi rank at New Street Station and cost around £6 to the University. There is also a taxi rank on campus to get back to the station.
