DESCRIPTION

Any multi-level model relies at heart on individual knowledge, skills and capabilities, which represents a necessary first step in fostering innovation such that it arises across employee groups. A key focus of the session will be on how to design the workplace to foster the career adaptability of talented individuals, to ensure skills supply (Bimrose, Brown & Barnes, 2011). Given that a lack of new talent being brought in might be holding back innovation and growth, the session will also investigate how MSBs can realize the potential opportunities that modern apprenticeships offer, especially bearing in mind the Coalition Government’s intention to expand this provision, and will look at other potential sources of new skills, for example, graduate employment.
