DESCRIPTION

We focus on how new knowledge might be incorporated into the organization, a question that has been identified as a particular challenge for MSBs (CBI, 2011 p. 26). Considering the implications for strategic HRM, we will build on insights shared in a recent White Paper (Sparrow, 2010). Cross-level dynamics will be debated: for example, exploratory learning might be set in motion by managers (Kang et al., 2007) but exposure to new and different perspectives presents capability challenges for employees that need to be understood and factored in (Smith et al., 2005).
