The Aston Centre for Human Resources (ACHR) was created with the aim of
’Building Sustainable Organisations through Effective People Management
Practice’.
The Centre’s mission is to develop and communicate understanding of how to build sustainable and successful organisations through effective people management practice.
ACHR brings together academics, practitioners and policy-makers to share knowledge, provide advice and develop new insights into the management of people in organisations.
Drawing on the centre's members expertise in Human Resource Management and Work Psychology, ACHR provides a rich and rigorous testing ground for developing HR theory and translating it into policy and practice, in order to:
- generate new insights through Human Resource Management research, and to communicate those insights to both academic and business communities
- engage with HR practitioners locally, nationally and internationally in identifying and responding to key HR questions, concerns and experiences
- contribute to, and where necessary challenge, existing HR policy and practice in light of our developing evidence base
- develop future HR practitioners through innovative and inspirational learning opportunities
- provide a nurturing and challenging environment for developing scholars in the broader domain of HRM, both for PhD students and for new researchers.
