Executive Development

The following three modules are an integral part of the Aston Executive MBA programme.

Students following a different MBA pathway study The Global Mindful Manager module instead.

The Reflective Executive

This module will enable you to proactively think through situations rather than merely reacting to them. The module gives students the opportunity to improve, exceed and transform their current levels of performance. By the end of the module, they will have practised mindfulness (the art of focusing the mind), and developed skills as an enabling and reflective leader.

Assessment: through a Reflective Learning Journal over the course of the programme.

The Responsive Executive

The Responsive Executive module aims to establish and enhance a mindset focused on performance through developing coaching skills. Students will be given the opportunity to sharpen their people management skills, reinforcing approachability, empathy and emotional intelligence. By the end of the module, students will have given and received personalised coaching, and will understand how to create tailored performance solutions in the workplace. Should they wish, they also have the opportunity to take a coaching diploma examination.

Assessment: through coach feedback, coaching circles, and through client assessment of the international consultancy project.

The Agile Executive

This module aims to enhance students’ performance as agile and resilient leaders, and improve their capacity for fulfilment in life and work. By the end of the programme, students will have transformed their knowledge and understanding of solutions and performance. They will have developed impact and presence, and have become leaders that think, listen and speak in a way that energises others to give more than is required.

Assessment: through a reflective learning journal over the course of the programme, and through peer-to-peer feedback.
