Aston Business School
has announced a brand new LLB Law with Management Degree. The course
has recently been validated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority and
the Bar Standards Board, which means that graduates can proceed
directly to the legal practice course for solicitors or the bar
vocational course for barristers.
The LLB Law with Management is a 4 year course and includes a compulsory 12 month work placement in year 3.
Professor Jill Poole is Head of Law and Associate Dean at Aston Business School.
She said “The introduction of this degree has been planned for some
time and is a natural progression for the Business School. Successful
commercial lawyers need to understand the needs of business as well as
the law and we believe that our graduates will have a genuine
commercial advantage. It is particularly attractive for anyone wanting
to specialise in commercial law.”
Aston Business School has an excellent reputation for work placements, with students taking roles in high profile UK and overseas businesses.
Professor
Poole added “A year of real-world commercial experience will set these
graduates apart in the market place and should have a big influence on
their future employability.”
Putting
the new course in place has taken almost two years research and
planning and has required the permission of the Privy Council because
the LLB is a new type of degree for the University. The course will be
delivered by an experienced team and has already attracted a great deal
of attention, with many enquiries from overseas. There have been more
than 300 expressions of interest in the 30 available places.
