October 2008, Aston Business School alumni gathered to hear Ian Pogson
deliver a lecture at the Strand Palace Hotel in London. Ian Pogson, a
Chartered Automotive Engineer, is Chief Engineer with Shanghai
Automotive.
Ian delivered a lecture, Carry on Car-Making – Life in China after
Longbridge. The lecture gave a personal overview of the final years of
MG Rover followed by a fascinating and unusual account of life and work
in China. This stimulated lively discussion, chaired by Professor Helen
Higson, Head of Learning and Teaching at Aston Business School and
Pro-Vice-Chancellor for International Relations.
Everyone had a great time at the event. One of the alumni guests
commented: “I found the lecture very interesting and enjoyed meeting
other Aston graduates.”
