In partnership with Cumbria’s Centre for Leadership and Performance (CfLP), we are delivering the third in a series of themes for executive development Master Classes and short courses.
Aston Business School is a Preferred Supplier to the CfLP , which is an initiative that aims to develop and strengthen leadership capability across the private, public and civic sectors in Cumbria. In collaboration with their learning providers, every quarter a new leadership theme is launched through a Master Class to invited participants. Following on from this Master Class, and in keeping with the theme, there follows a series of short courses and workshops. These courses cover a range of topics comprising the sort of transformational new thinking vital for organisational and commercial success.
Working in collaboration with the University of Cumbria, we have developed a short course to follow the recent Master Class delivered in September 2012 by Aston Business School’s Director of Performance, John Peters, to introduce the theme of Coping and Decision Making under Pressure. The current supporting short course tackles the topic of Resilient Leadership, and will be delivered by Aston’s Dr Helen Shipton and Catherine Eve of the University of Cumbria. Helen will co-deliver three separate one day short courses, each attended by up to twenty leaders drawn from the Cumbrian business community.
Similarly, in the past, short courses involving Aston have covered the topics of Building High Performance Teams, led by Professor Robin Martin, and Strategic Collaboration, co-presented by Aston’s Dr Michael Smets and Helen Bailey of the University of Cumbria.
Clients who have benefited from the interventions so far include Sellafield Ltd, logistics specialists Stobart Group and engineering and infrastructure specialists Story Contracting Ltd.
