Highlights of the 2012 - 2013 cohort:
A number of mentors and organisations delivered careers workshops to our mentees and applicants of the scheme, in order to develop their knowledge and networks.
Claire Basso from Uniqlo – Application and Interview Skills workshop (16th November 2012)
Students had the unique opportunity to get a glimpse into Uniqlo, a Japanese Fashion retailer that inspires the world to dress casual. Attendants were taught the inside secrets on how to succeed with application forms to secure opportunities within the fashion industry.
Roy Day from Phoebus Software Ltd – Succeeding in Interviews (28th November 2012)
With 14 years of HR experience, Roy was able to deliver an insightful session to inform mentees on how to succeed in a competency based interview. He then delivered a mock interview for attendants and gave them detailed feedback to practise what they had learned.
Naomi Brown from Ernst and Young LLP and Sanjay Aggarwal from Taylor Lloyd Mason - Accountancy Application Success (21st February 2013)
Naomi and Sanjay delivered a fascinating event in how to succeed within finance and accountancy. This gave attendants the opportunity to discover how to write an effective CV, how to succeed in an interview and what working in accountancy and finance entailed.
How can Prospective Mentees Join?
Applications for being a mentee of Professional Mentoring Scheme has now closed. We are reviewing the applications at the moment, and will be in touch shortly.
Alternatively you may like to join our Peer Mentoring Scheme.
If you are succcessful in joining the scheme, you will be required to attend a training session. We will be running three sessions and you must attend one, indicating your preferred session on your on-line application form. The sessions will take place on the following dates and times:
Wednesday 30th October 2013 - Room MB512 - 6-8pm
Thursday 31st October 2013 - Room G8 - 7-9pm
Friday 1st November 2013 - Room MB512 - 1-3pm
