Student Leadership Forum

From the 2nd - 5th February 2012, student representatives selected from the world’s top business schools attended the Beta Gamma Sigma Student Leadership Forum in Charleston in South Carolina USA.  The Forum is a biannual leadership event hosted by Beta Gamma Sigma, the international honor society serving business programs accredited by AACSB International – The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.

The Beta Gamma Sigma Student Leadership Forum brings together student members from colleges and universities from across the world for an opportunity to improve their leadership skills. A hands-on experience, the Student Leadership Forum challenges and engages the selected participants to join in a variety of both interactive individual and team activities designed to strengthen and develop their personal leadership styles, working with other student leaders and attending a variety of lectures and presentations.

Shan He, a final year undergraduate business student at the Business School was inducted into Beta Gama Sigma at the "Recognising Business Excellence" Event on Wednesday 25th January 2012. Due to her high academic achievements, Shan was selected to attend the recent Student Leadership Forum. Speaking about her experience, she said:

"I became more confident about my future career and I believe, if I work hard, I can not only do a job but be really good at it. Additionally, in one assessed debate, I encourged my team and the other team to work together, which helped all of us achieve one of the highest results."

"The Forum is one of the most impressive events I have in my life. It opened my views. Things I learnt from it, such as leadership style and the butterfly effect, will benefit my whole life. Thus, I strongly encourage students who have a chance shall go."
