In our latest Expert Perspectives event taking place during Global Entrepreneurship Week, market research specialists and Aston Business School alumni John Poole and Angie Lowe will share their experiences of establishing their own businesses and impart their knowledge on how best to research the market for your enterprise.
Researching the market for your business
John and Angie will explain how they have built up their own companies, and the lessons they have learnt along the way. They will highlight the benefits of market research, and demonstrate why it is so important to start-up businesses. They will also talk through the practicalities of conducting good market research and explain how to collect data that counts.
About the event
The event will start at 6pm with registration and a networking buffet, followed by the presentations at 6.45pm, which will last approximately an hour. Tickets are £10 and include a light buffet dinner and drinks.
John Poole is the owner and Managing Director of Oakham Research. John has 20 years experience in the research arena, having previously worked for Lorien Research, Halfords, Barclaycard, Staples Europe and Audi. With an
MBA from Aston Business School, John is a member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) and a full member of the Market Research Society (MRS).
Projects John has managed include B2B customer evaluation on behalf of Scottish Water, planning consultations on behalf of PI Renewables for Wind farms and customer satisfaction studies for British Telecom.
With over 20 years’ experience in the market research industry, Angie Lowe, Managing Director of Ask for Research, established the business in 2002. Providing all aspects of quantitative and qualitative research and across all industry sectors, clients cover the private, public and not for profit sectors. Clients include; The Environment Agency, The Stroke Association, The Chartered Institute of Housing, The Hay Group, International Copper Association and Finance Wales.
Angie has been a full member of the MRS since 1993. She became a full member of the CIM in 1998, and was one of the first to be awarded Chartered Marketer Status.
