Summary
The European Bioenergy Research Institute (EBRI) has shown that clean fuel gases and sequestered carbon products can be produced using a broad range of fuels of varying quality including sewage sludge, wood waste and algae. Materials that might otherwise be landfilled are used to produce fuel for combined heat and power systems. Implications for Birmingham and its future will be considered.
