The Global Poverty Project is an educational and campaigning organisation that activates citizens to be a part of the global movement to end extreme poverty.
Their vision is a world without extreme poverty within a generation. Their mission is to increase the number and effectiveness of people taking action to end extreme poverty.
There are 1.4 billion people in the world living in extreme poverty. That's 1.4 billion people living on less than $1.25 a day.
The Global Poverty Project has developed a multi-media presentation, 1.4 Billion Reasons, that is travelling the globe engaging and inspiring audiences to understand and get involved in the movement to end extreme poverty. If you're interested in arranging a screening of the presentation here at Aston, you can find more info here. Or, contact the Environment Team using the comments section below.
This great project is asking people to make a commitment to finding out more and taking a step to reduce global poverty - pledge tp do your bit here.
