Fancy getting involved in helping your department to Go Green? Want the opportunity to learn more about sustainability and behaviour change and come along to training sessions and good practice events? Or, would you just like the chance to win an award for your team and attend our annual awards lunch?
If you said yes to any (or all!) of the above then you should be one of our Aston Go Green Champions. We are recruiting staff volunteers for the newly launched 2012 Aston Go Green Champions campaign and all you need to do to sign up is contact environment@aston.ac.uk.
The Go Green Champions is replacing the old Go Green Awards and Energy Champions network and is designed to give staff the opportunity to get involved with efforts to improve environmental performance and awareness at Aston.
The competition works by creating teams within different departments, who sign up and receive a fun action pack to be completed. This includes some of the easy steps you can take to improve sustainability in your department, focusing on actions for energy saving, recycling and awareness raising, amongst others.
At the end of the competition, the action packs are marked by the Environment & Sustainability Team, with bonus points also available for those teams coming up with new and innovative ideas. Then the winners will be announced at our awards lunch and will have a year to celebrate before another team have the chance to snatch away their crown!
The Go Green Champions scheme has now launched for 2012/2013 and you can sign up by contacting the Environment & Sustainability Team – environment@aston.ac.uk
