The signed cycle route from Meriden St. is blocked by development works and BCC cycling officer is trying to get some new signage via the top of Fazeley St. to the Jennens Road Toucan crossing.

Cycling and walking route opens

The next section of the North Birmingham Connect2 cycling and walking route alongside Plants Brook, between Penns Lane and the Eachelhurst Road, is now open. It includes a link into Pype Hayes Park and a signed route to the Birmingham and Fazeley canal and Castle Vale.  £4.1 million has also been awarded for a four-year programme of cycling activity within Erdington and Sutton Coldfield, through the government's Local Sustainable Transport Fund. National Bike Week
(16th-24th June 2012) events at Aston will help kept cycle to work issues in high profile.

We are also investigating plans for a pool of loan bikes for 2011/12 - see the side menu for latest update.

All the cycle shelters are fully operational, including two more by car park 6, however there is still overcrowding in SW and Guild shelters. Please park responsibly inside the shelters and without blocking access to the stairs or railings. A new map is being printed.
